Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides patient care in consultation-liaison, outpatient, and/or inpatient psychiatric care services
  • Supervises residents, medical students, and fellows
  • Participates in the teaching program for fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
  • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations; adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Evidence of success in peer-reviewed publications
  • Emerging regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O degree
  • Successful completion of ACGME- accredited residency program in psychiatry
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Texas medical licensure, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
