Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides patient care and diagnosis in all areas of Pediatrics to newborns, children and adolescents
  • Examines patients to determine the presence of disease and establishes preventive health practices
  • Determines nature and extent of disease or injury
  • Prescribes and administers medications and immunizations
  • Precepts medical students and residents in the clinic, newborn nursery and general pediatric wards
  • Supervises physician assistants in the clinical setting
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Participates in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
  • Participates in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

Required Qualifications
  • M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent  degree
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited pediatrics residency program
  • Eligible for Texas medical license
  • Board-certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics
