Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgement and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, student employees and graduate interns

Major/Essential Functions
  • Responsible for building a professional, positive, and vibrant student culture and engaged campus community through the vision, oversight, and management of co-curricular programming and activities
  • Works directly with the Student Government Association to advise the Student Development Committee to make leadership programming available to all students
  • Advises the Student Government Association (SGA), attends their meetings and develops/implements training as needed. Supervises SGA adherence/updates to their constitution and bylaws. Serves as a resource on parliamentary procedures
  • Acts as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act and as a Title IX Responsible Employee and provides advisor training in this regard
  • Manages students, registered student organizations, and the SGA through the event approval process including the alcohol and food service policies/procedures as well as working in collaboration with campus stakeholders to ensure adherence to all regulations and requirements
  • Processes all financial records, i.e. Purchase orders, Direct Pay, Food and Entertainment, Budget Transfers, etc. 
  • Supervises student interns and work study students to support student leadership, engagement and campus co-curricular activities

Pay Statement

Occasional Duties
  • Identifies areas of collaboration for diverse student populations and supports Registered Student Organizations and sponsoring departments to come together co-curricular activities that celebrates difference and promotes acceptance
  • Actively participates in the planning and implementation of new student orientation program(s) with each school in order to improve student engagement and success - as it relates to services and programs offered by SSSE
  • Reviews Registered Student Organization funding requests, makes recommendations for corrections and changes, and presents them to the AVP for SSSE. Orients student leaders on the procurement card and purchase order processes
  • In conjunction with the offices of Institutional Advancement to assist students in the use of the University brand and proper policies for fundraising and donation solicitation
  • Directs preparing annual budgets for expenditures related to the Student Service Fee. Maintains and reconciles expenditures and balances on all accounts. Prepares, reviews, and helps manage Student Services and SGA (Student Government Association) budget, appropriations and expenditures. Complies and submits reports as required by management, state, local, and federal regulatory agencies
  • Leadership in all University sponsored events with student participation such as the annual (i.e. Fall event, holiday luncheon, residency fair, health fairs, 5k event, golf tournament, etc.)
  • Manages the Student Travel program, prepares travel vouchers for all students including and reconciles all transactions
  • Responsible for assessing co-curricular programming and activities to best serve students and their engagement and developmental needs. Assists Registered Student Organizations in assessing their programs to support funding requests and mission centric goal setting
  • Develops resources and handbooks to support Registered Student Organization leadership and compliance. Develops standards and means of recognition for outstanding organizations and students to validate their co-curricular experiences

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field
  • Three years of related administrative and technical experience
