Major/Essential Functions
  • Develops and maintains rigorous, externally funded research programs
  • Contributes to the university's missions through research, teaching and service
  • Teaches and mentors students, fellows, and other trainees
  • Participates in Cancer Center activities
  • Engages in cancer research activities within the state of Texas and nationally
  • Faculty with clinical interests in oncology will be eligible for a secondary appointment in another Department in the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Scientific expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas: cancer development and progression, experimental therapeutics, cancer biomarkers, cancer genomics and proteomics, particularly as related to breast, colon, liver, cervical, or prostate cancer

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree in any field of biomedical sciences pertinent to cancer research
  • Record of accomplishment in basic or translational cancer research
  • Minimum of three (3) years post-doctoral experience
