Major/Essential Functions
  • Teaches graduate students in Biomedical Sciences and the post-baccalaureate certificate program
  • Develops new curricular materials
  • Serves as course director
  • Builds and sustains an independent, externally-funded research program
  • Embraces the vision of the FGSBS and interacts with other members of the Institution in a collegial, team-oriented fashion
  • Mentors graduate students, post-graduate trainees, and medical students in research
  • Serves the academic community through participations in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
  • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures, especially those pertaining to teaching and research
  • Demonstrates professionalism
  • Adheres to all institutional and FGSBS policies and procedures

Required Qualifications
* Ph.D., or an equivalent degree in the field of biomedical sciences
* A minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral biomedical research experience, or research experience in a related area
* Experience in teaching in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, or other area related to biomedical sciences
* Experience in biomedical and/or translational research
* Record of peer-reviewed publications in the area of expertise
* Record of accomplishment in basic, translational, or clinical cancer research
