Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides inpatient and outpatient adult neurology clinical services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic and provides consultation services in the affiliated hospitals
  • Provides direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals
  • Assists with Epilepsy Clinic and conducting other neurological patient care services, to include diagnostic readings such as EEGs/EMGs according to subspecialty expertise
  • Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for the teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures
  • Performs academic research and scholarly activities in the Department of Neurology
  • Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned by the Department Chair
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Fellowship training in Neurophysiology, Neuromuscular Diseases, Epilepsy, Movement Disorder or Multiple Sclerosis from an accredited program in the United States
  • Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level

Required Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program
  • Board Certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Texas Medical License or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
