Major/Essential Functions

Participate in Cardiology in-patient care and in-patient consultation services
Participate in Fellow and private faculty clinics
Supervise and teach students, residents and fellows in both in-patient and outpatient care
Participate in academic activities in the areas of education, clinical care and research
Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Exhibits teamwork orientation and acts as a team player
Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity
 
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Licensed in Texas, or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Board Certified in Cardiology or successful completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Cardiology
  • Candidate must be capable of teaching Medical Students, Residents and Fellows
