Major/Essential Functions
  • Functions as an AP/CP pathologist
  • Take rotating night/weekend call
  • Participates in teaching activities for medical students, residents and laboratory employees
  • Participates in research and/or scholarly activities in the department
  • Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and departmental billing regulations
  • Adhere to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree
  • Unrestricted Texas medical license or eligible for unrestricted Texas licensure
  • Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology, or completion of a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology
  • Proficient in the performance and interpretation of bone marrows (aspirate and biopsies) and fine needle aspirations
  • Experience in the interpretation of frozen sections
  • Ability to gross complex cases
  • Effective laboratory management skills
