Major/Essential Functions

• Performs clinical duties, including sign-out responsibilities, gross frozen section coverage, night/weekend call duties and presentation at tumor boards
• Participates in teaching activities for medical students, residents and laboratory employees
• Participates in research and/or scholarly activities
• Participates in committees and other administrative duties
• Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
• Adheres to all compliance policies (e.g. HIPAA) and departmental billing regulations
• Adheres to the institutional and departmental policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certification in cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology
• Two or more years post-residency experience
• Experience in teaching medical students and residents
• Regional or emerging national reputation (for the rank of associate professor or higher)

Required Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Unrestricted Texas Medical license or eligible for Texas medical licensure
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship training in cytopathology
• Board-certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
• Experience in surgical pathology sign-outs
• Experience in cytopathology sign-outs
• Experience in the interpretation of frozen sections
• Experience in the performance and interpretation of bone marrows
• Experience in grossing and in performing autopsies
