Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership in administration and operations of the residency program including teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, and promotion of residents, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care
  • Complies with the ACGME Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Family Medicine
  • Collaborates with the Associate and Assistant Dean for GME on residency program requirements
  • Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registrations, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standing
  • Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students
  • Engages in research and/or scholarly activities
  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work and professional organizations
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Required Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. Degree
  • Licensed in Texas, or eligible for medical license in the State of Texas
  • Board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine Physicians
  • A minimum of (3) years of clinical experience in Family Medicine
  • A minimum of ((3) years of educational and /or administrative experience
  • A minimum of (2) years of experience as core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program
