Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Cleans, sanitize restrooms, disposes of trash from offices, lab common & class rooms, wipes furniture. Cleans glass windows and doors. Removes biohazard waste when scheduled.
  • Clean and maintains equipment in good working order.
  • Clean floors, base boards, corners, strips and waxes floors as needed.
  • Coordinates and assists with the coordination of cleaning work areas with construction staff.
  • Responds to emergency calls to correct or remediate the problem. 
  • Must have and maintain valid State of Teas driver's license and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier. Must be able to pass the employee criminal background check.
  • Actively participate and complete training, personal development and continuing education.
  • Dust, wet mop floor, vacuum, shampoo carpet in assigned areas. Burnishes floor in assigned areas.
  • Responsible for keeping all work areas and equipment clean
  • Performs other related and various job duties as assigned.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications

Pay Basis

Schedule Details
5:00pm to 1:30am, capable of working weekends, holidays and after hours.

  • 2 years of experience in a similar position is preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions as evidenced by the completion of an elementary school education.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to learn materials, methods, and equipment used in assigned work; ability to operate cleaning equipment; ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time.
