Position Description
Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Supervises prepares performance evaluations and, oversees the professional development and promotion of Research Administrators. 
  • Review and submit electronic and hard copy federal, state, local, and private grant proposals on behalf of TTUHSC at El Paso.
  •  Assist faculty and staff with the preparation of proposal application packages. 
  • Oversight of CPRIT proposals, awards, and reporting. 
  • Review and accept external funding on behalf of the institution. 
  • Post-award oversight of all awards to include review and approval of account setup for new and existing awards as well as any needed budget revisions throughout the duration of the award. 
  • Serve as liaison between the Principal Investigator and the sponsoring agency as well as the liaison between campus and OSP. Assist in all areas of post-award non-financial grants management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
