Major/Essential Functions
-Develop, track and maintain list of historical, current, and potential energy conservation and efficiency projects.
-Provide engineering design, expertise, and knowledge for assigned projects.
-Perform status reports and maintain direct communication of ongoing projects with department.
-Process, record, and track all utility invoices and bills received by the department.
-Create and submit state mandated energy reports.
-Analyze and recommend utility/energy conservation initiatives, projects, etc. to administration for implementation.
-Perform routine facility, equipment, and utility distribution audits for TTUHSC assets.
-Review contract documents and provide recommendations for projects containing engineering components.
-Manages resources for all assigned projects.
-Maintain professional development credentials.
-Review and provide recommendations for modifying outdated department policies, standards, or work practices.
-Provide in-house project management services for the department for new facilities, renovation projects, adaptations and modernization, and liaison work on Capital Projects.
-Responds to emergency calls during regular shifts, afterhours, weekends and holidays to correct or remediate the problem.
-Perform duties of operator for monitoring of building automation controls systems.
-Provide expertise to program sequence of operations (BACnet protocol) and troubleshoot controllers.
-Perform computerized energy simulation of HSC facilities.
 
Strong background in recent versions of AutoCAD and Revit.  Thorough knowledge of terminology, methods, practices, and techniques of drafting.  Should possess knowledge and ability to compile detailed floor plans and perform geometric calculations.  Ability to use computer and current MS Office products (especially Word, Excel, and Access).  Ability to provide technical assistance as needed.  Strong project management skills.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish and maintain good working relationships with all coworkers and customers.  Ability to operate and read/interpret a tape measuring device. This position is a security-sensitive position, and, as such, will require the final candidate (s) to undergo a police record and background check.  A fingerprint records check may also be performed on the desired appointee.  This position will require a MVR (moving vehicle record check) to become an approved driver for policy 63.01 and 63.03 and other applicable policies and requirements of TTUHSC, the department, and the TTUS office of Risk Management.  Being an approved driver is essential to this position, to be able to travel to other campuses and regional sites to perform assigned duties.  Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Drivers License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer registered Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training (EIT).  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering discipline from an EAC/ABET accredited university plus five (5) years related experience. Previous experience in Energy Modeling and building automation controls.
