Position Description
The Enterprise Network Engineer II's scope of responsibility includes providing primary support for the operation of enterprise-level technology used by enterprise-wide mission-critical systems and infrastructure. This position may also assist with training team members and manage technical projects. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.

Major/Essential Functions
- Implementation of complete network solutions for the Institution including all new sites and construction projects.
- Implementation, integration and administration of DHCP, radius servers, switches and routers.
- Assist with the administration, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the enterprise network, teleconference and communications equipment and ensure infrastructure is being updated, maintained and backed up regularly.
- Implementation and administration of several wireless services.
- Implementation and administration of Enterprise Video conferencing equipment.
- Implementation and administration of Network Access Control solution.
- Data lines coordination, ports activation and configuration and network documentation.
- Monitor network infrastructure to detect and anticipate potential issues. Work with Internet providers, support engineers and consultants as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to end users by troubleshooting network related issues.
- Work after hours and on weekends when required and be part of the on call schedule. Computer and smartphone.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR
- A combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
