Position Description
Performs specialized work in performing research to study infectious diseases. Participates in all aspects of research in laboratory; including performing animal models of infection, molecular biology and immunology assays, and data analysis and interpretation. Duties will also include animal husbandry, maintaining lab equipment and ordering supplies. May assist with the direction and guidance of graduate students and manuscript preparation.

Major/Essential Functions
- Performs scientific research.
- Assists with training and direction of graduate students and volunteers.
- Assists with data analysis, the preparation of manuscripts and posters.
- Responsible for day to day maintenance of lab and lab equipment; including ordering supplies and certification of receipt in appropriate university systems.
- Presents data at lab meetings and possibly regional and national meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience working with mice. Experience performing ELISA.
- Experience performing flow cytometry analysis.

- Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree.
