Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through research and service. Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members. Performs specialized work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research. Responsible for participating in, planning, preparing the budget, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants. The job of the Sr Clinical Research Coordinator is to provide leadership, training of rotating students, residents, faculty and conduct independent research at the Southwest Brain Bank (SWBB). The position is responsible for planning, scheduling, supervising clinical research including industry clinical trials. The position provide expertise to faculty and trainees how to work with the TTUHSCEP administration including the IRB and Office of Sponsored Programs, in keeping a research database up to date, and preparation of research manuscripts. Work is performed under the supervision of Dr. Thompson. The position will provide the SWBB clinical outreach and interview families.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Responsible for all laboratory related activities related to brain bank research. This includes coordination of sample collection, maintenance and storage of samples, as well as project planning for future expansion
  • Responsible for data entry, record keeping and analysis of data related to brain bank research
  • Extract data from medical records and enter data into databases
  • Design research studies, including gathering literature, data analysis development and revision of data collection forms. Prepares lectures and presentations on clinical research for faculty, residents and fellows
  • Responsible for Southwest Brain Bank data collection, enrollment, biobanking, and record keeping. Responsible for donor interactions. Responsible for molecular and histological
  • The TMS Clinical Treater should possess, sufficient clinical expertise to monitor the patient during the conduct of a recurring TMS treatment session, make routine adjustments and progress notes as requiredaspects of tissue analysis

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree preferred with at least two years of experience in health research, familiar with basic analyses using SPSS/SAS software, and study design plus manuscript experience
  • Spanish language proficiency
