Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides consultations and clinical services in an inpatient setting
  • Collaborates with leadership group(s) to improve inpatient quality of care in inpatient setting
  • Engages in extensive and ongoing communications with community primary care physicians
  • Completes all medical records and documentation accurately and timely to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements
  • Supervises residents and medical students in clinical setting
  • Participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents
  • Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Engages in scholarly activities
  • Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with Paul. L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience as a hospitalist
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Experience as a hospitalist in a community hospital setting
  • Experience of supervising residents in the hospital setting
  • Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications
  • M.D. / D.O. or Foreign Medical Equivalent
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program in Internal Medicine
  • Licensed or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
