Position Description
Performs specialized analytical duties in the operation and maintenance of assigned area. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Review task performed by subordinates for hardware and software departmental assets. Ensure the accuracy of departmental internal database.
  • Review service billing, payment, and procurement functions to determines accuracy 
  • Review, approve and submit budget transactions in system for departmental travel, purchasing, and procurement card activity and ensure compliance to establish guidelines.
  • Identify, research and resolve, discrepancies of financial information discovered during review of accounts for the purpose of reaching resolution, ensuring accuracy of data. Assign corrections to be made to IT business office staff, review prior to submitting for managing director for approval.
  • Performs salary analysis on current and vacant positions and provide cognos reports for all staffing lapsed salaries. Assist managing director in meeting with IT Sections with staffing needs and requirements within the department.
  • Analyze and review the external and internal IT events billing and payment processes for TTUHSC Campus to ensure IT sections are capturing all associated costs with proposed events.
  • Establish and prepare annual budget analysis for budget preparation during all budget prep cycles. Assist managing director, coordinating and holding meetings with IT Management and Executive. components for budget preparation and the following phases of budget maintenance.
  • Assist managing director in developing and executing internal processes and controls.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred minimum experience in IT financial management processes and practices such as budgeting, cost allocations, chargebacks, costing of services, purchasing and capital and operating expense handling.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Occasional Duties
  • Provide leadership role in supporting to the Managing Director to include budget reporting, expense monitoring, presentations, and develop process improvements to ensure the efficient use of budget. Serves as back up in absence of managing director.
  • Perform miscellaneous but essential duties to support computer systems, the Information Technology Department.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree plus four years progressively responsible related experience; OR
  • A combination of education and experience to equal eight years.
