Position Description
Oversee the execution and development of all external managed care contracts (MCCs) and contractual relationships critical to the financial health of TTUHSC El Paso and it's referral base. Additionally, this position will plan, direct and oversee all daily operations within the office of provider services (credentialing and enrollment).

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area (Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management or Finance preferred); Master's in Business Management or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Education beyond bachelor's level may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management or supervisory level managed care contracting experience in a financial or health care setting with at least three (3) of these years’ experience in health care (academic medicine/health sciences center, hospital or health care system setting preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare insurance, hospital and/or physician billing and reimbursement, administration, systems, practices and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize negotiation techniques and practices in order to effectively advocate for TTUHSC El Paso
  • Advanced proficiency in computer software applications (i.e. MS Office) and various EMRs, tracking databases, spreadsheets, etc. as demonstrated though specific examples
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, patients/families and other internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third party MCO enrollment policies and procedures
