Position Description
Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the program

Major/Essential Functions
  • Supports the Associate Director of Technical Operations and Simulation Director in continuous daily function of TECHS activities including reviewing written curricular needs and deploying simulation scenarios to ensure satisfaction of internal and external customers
  • Provides support for all TECHS simulation courses throughout the year. Coordinates and executes preparation of rooms in advance
  • Maintains an inventory of all specialty consumables used in simulation rooms and collects course evaluation forms for data entry
  • Communicate with physicians, staff & visitors regarding scenario activities under possible stressful conditions
  • Responsible for assisting TECHS directors in maintenance, inventory, and delivery of all equipment, medical supplies, office supplies, and any consumables that are necessary for necessary operations while maintaining financial responsibility to the organization
  • Coordinates scheduled education lessons and other departmental activities for staff/faculty of TECHS as requested
  • Assists in coordinating special projects in TECHS. Such as assisting in the development of special grants, collecting project data for special reports, usage metrics, and assisting the director in planning and conducting appropriate research
  • Provides support to faculty/staff members in the operations and education divisions with daily tasks, as well as with special project requests. Perform data entry and ensure accurate recording of usage and utilization of TECHS rooms, and equipment in the learning management system

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic simulation and medical practice and procedures
  • Accurate & skillful use of personal computer, and assigned software
  • Detail oriented, performs satisfactorily under pressure of deadlines
  • Demonstrates knowledge of institutional policies and procedures in curriculum implementation
  • Knowledge of TTUHSC mission, purpose, and goals
  • Must have ability to stand, walk, and/or sit continuously perform essential job functions accurately & safely with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Occasional Duties
  • Advances knowledge of simulation equipment, use and function to provide recommendations and support of educational needs
  • Maintain active involvement in administrative meetings and department led educational offerings to advance knowledge and support of medical education and simulation curricula
  • Assist with maintenance, cleaning and appropriate storage of simulation equipment and supplies as directed by Director or Associate Director
  • Work with other staff to develop and maintain library of simulation equipment and manufacture resources (both paper and digital) to allow easy reference for use and support of equipment function
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High school plus six years experience in related field
  • Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis
