Major/Essential Functions
Recurrent Staff Employee is assigned to the Emergency Medicine Research Division.  To be working on grant related research.  Performs specialized work in conducting original research.  Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. 
Recruit study participants in person or by phone and schedules appointments.
Administer surveys on all study participants.
Maintain ethics and compliance standards including the completion of CITI training and the protection of human subjects.
Responsible for daily operations of clinical research projects for the department.   Recruit and enroll human subjects in clinical research projects.  Responsible for upholding current and future logs and documentation of research activities.
Performs additional duties assigned by superior within the scope of position, following TTUHSC policies and procedures in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

Preferred Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must meet experience and educational requirements outlined in this position .  Must be available to work flexible hours.  These would be some evenings and weekends.  Must have experience in working with clinical trials or similar.  Must have excellent English grammar and spelling skills.  Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, be a team player, display flexibility, detail oriented, and be reliable and punctual.  Must have ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from patients and the general public with strong written and oral communication is required.  Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment and coordinate with colleagues at various organizational levels.  Ability to complete data entry accurately and communicate closely with supervisor.   Good organizational and communication skills. 
PREFERRED:  Current RN license as approved by the Texas State Board of Nursing or ability to transfer current RN license to Texas.   Current CPR certification.   Education:  Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program.  Experience: Two years of RN experience in a hospital, clinic or community based setting.  Bilingual speaker (English/Spanish).  Experience in social, behavioral, medical or health services research preferred.   Experience in collecting data with surveys and obtaining consent is preferred.  Experience in specimen collection including venipuncture preferred.
