Position Description
EEG Tech performs neuro -diagnostic testing, operate and maintain equipment. Assist patients with medical history, apply electrodes to patients, use proper techniques to obtain accurate readings and report results.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Prepare, operate and maintain electroencephalograph machines (e.g. equipment setup and data recording). Make the necessary adjustments when necessary.
  • Obtain medical history of patients' neurological disorders and apply electrode to patients' heads, chest, arms, legs or spinal columns depending on EEG procedure
  • Monitor of patients' and procedure. Adjust video cameras to keep patient in view and in focus, oversee the adequate function of EEG recording equipment, administer or monitor performance tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Trained in use & routine maintenance of equipment, recognition of ictal & interictal electrographic patterns, resultant expertise in the management of clinical seizures and seizure-related medical emergencies.

Required Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved program in EEG Technology or equivalent training experience.
  • Registry with the American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET).
  • BLS required.
Experience:
  • 4 years experience in healthcare setting.
