A job involving an appointment for infrequent temporary work where the employee is called in as needed.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides instruction in state-approved basic & advanced certification courses (i.e., EMT-Basic & EMT-Paramedic) and other Simulation training scenarios.
  • Provides written reports/observations as required.
  • Assists in maintaining equipment and manikins associated with specific courses.
  • Provides instruction in specialty courses (i.e., ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) , or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), or BLS (Basic Life Support) or APLS (Advanced Pediatric Life Support).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Min. One (1) years experience as an ACLS, PALS, ITLS or BLS instructor.
  • Current licensure or certification as physician, nurse or paramedic.
  • Current certification as an ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Provider Instructor, or Current certification as a PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Provider Instructor, or Current certification as a ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) Provider Instructor, or Current certification as a BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider, Instructor or Current certification as an APLS and/or (Advanced Pediatric Life Support) Instructor.
  • Experience in providing instruction in state-approved basic & advanced certification courses (i.e., EMT-Basic & EMT-Paramedic) and other Simulation training scenarios.
  • Superior communication & writing skills.
  • Superior organizational skills & the ability to coordinate detailed programs & events, working with diverse personalities to accomplish program objectives.
  • Ability to work independently within established guidelines & procedures.
  • Ability to interact with coworkers, personnel & public in a positive manner.
  • Superior instructor skills. 
  • Strong grounding & commitment to customer service.
