Major/Essential Functions
  • Collaborates with basic scientists and clinical researchers to enhance research opportunities
  • Publishes peer-reviewed manuscripts in the area of women's health
  • Plans, develops and conducts clinical and translational research
  • Collaborates and supports the success of existing research programs and mentors research staff and students
  • Provides leadership/supervision to research staff
  • Organizes and coordinates with research staff on program development, i.e. developing clinical data collection form, IRB proposals, writing proposals, publication reporting etc.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Adheres to Institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with PLFSOM’s Declaration of Faculty Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in toxicology and environmental chemistry related to women's health
  • Experience in laboratory techniques of DNA extraction, isolation and sequencing
  • Experience with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and high-performance liquid chromatography HPLC
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring students
  • Evidence of participation of membership in professional organizations

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. degree in Applied Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Clinical Chemistry
  • A minimum of 2-year post-doctoral experience
  • Experience with research grant writing
  • Collaborative authorship in peer-reviewed scientific publications
