Position Description
Coordinates a section in a department that has institutional oversight responsibilities. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program or departmental project as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Oversees the initiation, classification, prioritization, planning, execution and closure processes for medium to small   IT projects and programs of moderate to high complexity, cost and risk.
  • Supports IT leaders with guidance regarding compliance with project management methodologies, policies, requirements and standards.
  • Evaluates active IT projects for adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
  • Produces specialized reports to identify performance trends and outcomes for measuring project success.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management background in related field. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of IT systems such as Project and Portfolio Management tools. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the Project Management Institute; OR at least 1,500 hours of direct project management experience.

Occasional Duties
  • Manages the governance process for the portfolio of IT projects and programs.
  • Develops, implements and maintains project management practices, processes, standards and tools.
  • Assists IT senior director in developing, planning and maintaining IT PMO Office policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates weekly meetings with stakeholders and project teams to provide continuous status updates.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Develops and maintains training materials and customer support websites for users of IT Project Management Office practices, processes, procedures and other project management resources.
  • Provides formal project management training to IT Project Managers and staff.
  • Programs the features and functionality associated with project management forms, templates, processes and tools.
