Position Description
The Senior Specialist scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students whether on the phone, in person, or remotely. Technical support is related to computer systems, external peripherals, software applications, customized applications, and websites. Work is performed under supervision within established guidelines with performance based on overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Maintain the security and protection of electronic information resources to include computers, network, software and data
  • Provide technical support for helpdesk calls
  • Complete and document work orders as assigned within same business day
  • Issue pagers; keep accurate records and assists with pager maintenance
  • Maintain software approval procedures, requests and service level agreements
  • Manage the distribution of eRaider accounts
  • Manages outside resources to accomplish tasks and projects in a time frame given by supervisor
  • Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education
  • Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time, consistent with established verbal and written policies, procedures, and schedules
Position Specific Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand
  • Ability to work flexible schedule: day, night weekends, and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Take a logical and systematic approach to problems and situations 
  • Knowledge of common applications such as antivirus, email, Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013 , Microsoft products, and Adobe products Experience on Windows-based PC’s and in supporting Windows XPand Windows 7 Operating systems; Limited experience with MAC’s Ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment
  • Ability to understand and follow direction
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate and adjust work load effectively
