Position Description
Responsible for management of the campus wide Quality Improvement Program. Implement and monitor Quality Improvement Plan throughout the institution. Maintains and recommends revisions for all campus and institutional policies related to quality issues. Supervise occupational health program. Guides the organization to Joint Commission certification as an Ambulatory Care Facility.  Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Coordinates the institutional effort to achieve Joint Commission certification by articulating standards and criteria to physicians, nurses and administration.
  • Oversee the Health Science Center Employee health program including L.A.R.C.
  • Facilitates regulatory compliance, and leads multidisciplinary teams to meet external and Internal mandates.
  • Oversee the delivery of care by the registered professional nurse and advanced practice nurse led teams who promote, implement and measure best practice outcomes in ambulatory care systems.
  • Evaluates activities of clinic to ensure patient care. staff relations and efficiency of service. Provides administrative support to clinical Operations Committees with regard to quality issues.
  • Provides supervision of employee. Orients new staff and identifies training, licensure and education needs of staff.
  • Develops and implements the organizations plans for providing continuous performance Improvement related to patients requiring care Assists with the design of the annual campus wide Quality Improvement Program.
  • Maintains and/or recommends revisions on all campus and institution wide policies.
  • Ability to systematically collect, manage,? maintain, analyze, interpret all data related to ?institutional Performance Improvement and make recommendations that will impact? positively on patient care delivery plans and? goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred
  • Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Nursing License in the State of Texas . Three years experience in hospital/clinic Quality Improvement activities/programs
  • Current CPR Certification
