Position Description
Employees in this position are responsible for the maintenance of patient billing accounts and performing numerous related functions to accomplish this task; such as, patient registration, insurance follow-up, financial screening of unfunded patients, answering patient billing inquiries, collection of unpaid balances and posting of payments.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Balance, prepare and submit cash receipts on a daily basis (Both Phreesia and Non Phreesia).
  • Manage and process patient payments from Patient Services website, Phreesia, ECommerce Touch Net Website.
  • Logging and balancing credit card transactions (departmental and insurances).
  • Processing, logging, and balancing credit card transactions received Phreesia System).
  • Run and prepare monthly banner ledger report and analyze data for accuracy and easy interpretation of information.
  • Process and document NSF returns checks.
  • Assist in processing and managing the reporting for all collection agencies (prepare payment reports weekly, post payment, update and post comments on patient's accounts). Conducts research and resolve issues accordingly.
  • Follow up with HD for payment status and create cash receipt in bank 46 upon receipt of funds.
  • All other duties assigned.
  • Follow up for special payments in Cognos and update file. Create batch slip and distribute to payment posting team.

Required Qualifications
+Education:+ * A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
 +Experience:+ * Five (5) years of office experience with two (2) of those years in billing or collections.
OR
* At least three (3) years of service at TTUHSC in the Medical Billing Associate program and a current performance appraisal with a rating of meeting or exceeding expectations.
