Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions
-Manages assigned physical property inventory. Performs regular and random parts inspections to ensure inventory control. Investigates and corrects any discrepancies through proper channels.  Maintains accurate inventory levels reflecting historical use of parts, supplies, and tools.  Provides shop trades personnel with current inventory level information.
-Manages and oversees Inventory Coordinator and operations of pats receiving, issuance, replenishing of inventory, etc. Coordinates with Work Control as needed.
-Supervises/ensures inventory reconciliation and generates various reports/ledgers of inventory usage and postings to work order/PMs (i.e. Facilities Operations & Maintenance purchasing card charges, monthly charges, and all other purchases).
-Assists with tracking and proper posting of materials used in projects, work orders and PMs.
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and departmental personnel.  Also maintains good rapport with vendors/suppliers. Work to optimize processes and resources.
-Procures bids for inventory items, services and construction components as required.
-Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
-Provides direct supervision and guidance to subordinate employees in tasks including but not limited to: planning, assigning, organizing and evaluating work.  Assists with establishing long and short range goals for PPPS.
-Evaluates and provides summary information, reports, etc. with recommendations and assessments utilizing financial information such as institutional monthly ledger.
-Manage and oversees maintenance of required processing and documentation on assigned warehouse vehicles and tools.
-Review overall fiscal operations of the Warehouse and make suggestions as to how to improve operational efficiency.  Assists with development and preparation of yearly budget.  Preparation of monthly budget reports, productivity reports, other reports as required/requested by supervisor.
-Assists in the development and preparation of the annual budget.  Monitor, verify, modify and analyze budgets on regular basis.
-Assures timely processing of annual maintenance service contract awards.
-Participates in recruiting, hiring, managing, and retaining qualified personnel.
-Conducts and performs other related duties as required and assigned by supervisors.
-Operates state vehicle to pick up parts and supplies.  Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Drivers License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier.  Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background Check.

Responsible for organizing the safe and efficien reeipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse goods.  Plans and develops procedures to ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are safeguarded and utilized acording to policy.  Serves as liaison with vendors, cutomers, and other departments.  Achieves financial objectives by preparing an anual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;initiatingcorrective actions. Leads, supervises,trains and evaluates warehouse staff.  Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and ohter s on relevant matters.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Information Technology or other business related field of study. APICS or similar Certification in Production and Inventory Management is desirable.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Occasional Duties
-Extensive experience of inventory ad warehouse management for companies in the service sector (construction, maintenance or production).
-Proven track record in leading teams of inventory or warehouse workers responsible for receiving/recording new stock as it comes in and move tock onto trucks or shelves as needed.
-Strong skills and knowledge in creating schedules, monitoring stock levels, and replenishing stock processes.
-Knowledge of databases, multiple software programs, and experience with CMMS systems.
-Supervisory experience and skills.
-Ability to analyze accounting systems for proper controls and reporting capabilities.
