Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership and strategic development to departmental research support staff
  • Implements strategies for faculty development for junior and mid-level faculty in the Department of Radiology with a goal of attaining academic promotion for departmental faculty
  • Provides clinical services and teaching in diagnostic radiology, aligned with credentials and approved privileges Interprets images in all modalities of diagnostic radiology
  • Engages in teaching activities for fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Serves as a mentor and role model for faculty, fellows, residents, staff and students in scholarship and/or research projects
  • Participates in scholarly activities of the Department of Radiology, to include publishing scientific articles in peer-review journals
  • Serves on departmental and institutional committees and participates in academically-related public service
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedure
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and requirements
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with PLFSOM’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

  • Administrative experience in a departmental leadership role
  • Established track record in faculty development or mentoring programs

Required Qualifications
  • MD / DO degree or equivalent
  • Texas medical license or eligibility for Texas medical license
  • Current board certification by the American Board of Radiology
  • Qualified for faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or higher
  • A successful track record of scholarship
  • Evidence of prior research experience and productivity
